Headquartered in Kirkland, Washington,

i1 Biometrics is a privately held information and technology company focused on the Sports and Military markets, and is devoted to developing protection and performance products and systems. i1 Biometrics addresses these areas by bringing to market innovative technologies such as the Impact Intelligence System (IIS).

The Impact Intelligence System is a first of its kind athletic product to offer a solution to the growing epidemic of undiagnosed Sports Brain Injuries. At the Impact Intelligence System’s core is the world’s first mouthguard that accurately measures the linear and rotational accelerations of head impacts during sports. In essence, the i1 Biometrics mouthguard can tell how hard a hit has impacted an athlete’s brain, and from that information a real-time injury assessment can be made on the sideline.

The mouthguard is groundbreaking in its ability to gather and disseminate impact information from inside the athlete’s head and in the context of an individual athlete’s history of exposure and injury.

The data collected on the field is transmitted in real-time via our proprietary wireless protocol to a base station at the sideline and from there via GSM to a secure internet database. The system makes monitoring easy, as it sends notifications and alerts to authorized sideline personnel via mobile devices about impacts to players heads.

Lastly, the system serves as a complete solution beyond the real-time monitoring and reporting by providing a suite of tools supporting athlete assessment in bench vs. play decisions, recovery and safe return-to-play protocols.

i1 Biometrics will continue to innovate and deliver cutting edge athletic and military performance and safety solutions. For more information on our mouthguard, click here.
